God wants more for His daughters

Joslyn LaMadrid

Your drive becomes a little different once you discover your destiny.

Joslyn is one of the founding members of Talitha Koum, a non-profit organization providing transfusions of hope until women can rise up with the courage of Christ. Joslyn brings a broad range of education and experience to the team. She has an extensive background in legal affairs, non-profit start-ups, with both her Juris Doctorate and LLM in taxation. She has worked for recovery homes, shelters, homes for survivors of human trafficking, as well as representation of several multi-million dollar international companies. In addition, she has a huge heart for women and children.

Joslyn is also a survivor. In 2005 she survived a kidnapping and attempted murder, followed by several years of trying to survive raising her children. She was an active participant in the state’s equivalent of the witness protection program, and she has had to move over 30 times in the past 15 years, in order to protect her family. She has first-hand experience of the heartache and trauma caused by frequent relocation of her family, especially during her 2 daughters young lives. Joslyn is committed to helping all women and children to obtain stability and security…for the sole purpose of finding out their whole identity is not based on anything they can do, rather their identity is tied directly to whose they are.

She believes once all women find out who they are in Christ, they will be an unstoppable force for God’s kingdom. Once a woman feels the love of our Heavenly Father, there is nothing that can hold them back from their destiny.

Michelle West Grigsby

Michelle has a strong mission of harm reduction, with an emphasis on those who struggle with addiction and are survivors of abuse. Michelle understands what it is like to lose a family member who struggles with addiction and homelessness, as she lost her brother to addiction. She is an overdose educator through the State of Washington’s Department of Health, and consistently provides education and resources to those susceptible to overdoses.

Michelle grew up in a home of alcoholism, violence and constant instability. As a young adult, Michell also struggled with addiction and toxic relationships, not really caring about life or death. Michelle knows first-hand what it is to carry many negative labels from the world. When people came into her life and they started speaking life giving words, she began to understand her identity in Christ. She recognized she is no longer those negative labels the world put on her, but a daughter of the King of Kings. God uses Michelle’s story to help lead others to freedom. She consistently uses her experience, strength and hope to individuals to encourage a new way of life. She loves to walk alongside people as they discover their freedom and identity in Christ.
